ANKARA: The French Embassy in Israel warned all French nationals on Saturday in the region to stay near shelters amid Iran’s attack on Israel.
Iran launched dozens of drones toward Israel in response to an April 1 attack on its consulate in Syria which killed senior military commanders.
The French Embassy urged its nationals to follow local authorities’ instructions and reminded them that air traffic would be disrupted due to Ben Gurion airport being closed until the morning and that it could also cause disruptions in the next few days.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps confirmed Saturday that it had launched dozens of drones and missiles toward Israel.
The Israeli army said the drones are expected to take hours to reach their targets.
At least seven members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed, including two top generals, in a missile attack on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, Syria.
Tehran has blamed Israel for the attack.
