FinMin travels to Luxembourg for Eurogroup and Ecofin meetings

Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos travels to Luxembourg on Wednesday to take part in the Euro area Finance Ministers Council (Eurogroup) and EU Finance Minister council (Ecofin) on Thursday and Friday as well as the Annual General Meetings of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). According to a press release issued by the Finance Ministry, the Eurogroup meeting will discuss Cyprus' 14th post-programme monitoring report. The Euro area Finance Ministers will also discuss the post-programme reports for Greece, Portugal, Ireland and Spain, as well as the progress concerning the digital euro. The Ecofin Council to be held on Friday, will discuss the legislative package on the VAT in the digital ages and the proposed reform of the EU fiscal governance. In the context of the European Semester, the Council will adopt the recommendations on the 2023 national reform program and will provide its opinion on the updated stability and convergence programs.
