F1: Ferrari’s Sainz takes Italian Grand Prix pole

Ferrari's Spanish driver Carlos Sainz sent the home crowd into raptures on Saturday by taking pole position for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Red Bull's Formula One world champion and runaway standings leader Max Verstappen will also be on the front row after notching the second-fastest time.

Dutchman Verstappen is seeking to land his 10th consecutive Grand Prix victory at Monza this weekend.

Sainz's Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc qualified in third place.
