Industrial production in the EU increased 3% in February compared to the same month last year, according to estimates from Eurostat on Wednesday.
Production of non-durable consumer goods rose 9.6%, durable consumer goods 6.3%, energy 4.6% and intermediate goods 3.9%, while production of capital goods fell 2.1%, the statistical office said in a statement.
The largest annual increase in industrial output was registered in Lithuania with 20.4%, while the biggest monthly decrease was recorded in Ireland with 14.1%.
On a monthly basis, the seasonally adjusted industrial production rose 0.6% in the EU.
Production of durable consumer goods rose 2.4%, non-durable consumer goods 1.7% and intermediate goods 0.8%, while production of capital goods remained stable and energy fell 0.6%.
The highest monthly increases were seen in Italy with 4% while the largest decreases were observed in Slovenia minus 8.3%.
