The European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) has requested further information of 10 designated European commissioners, including Italian candidate Raffaele Fitto, well-informed parliamentary sources said Thursday.
Fitto has been asked for further information on his stake in real estate properties, according to the sources.
The JURI committee is tasked with examining the potential conflict of interests of candidates.
On Thursday, it started the exam based on reserved documents sent by the designated commissioners over the past few days.
Fitto has been designated as executive vice-president for cohesion and reforms in the new EU executive.
