Eleven people died Tuesday in a fire in the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to the state news agency SANA.

SANA, citing an Interior Ministry statement, said the blaze broke out at a commercial facility in central Damascus.

Mohamed Abul Reish of the Damascus Hospital said seven burned bodies were admitted to the hospital. No information was provided about other victims.

SANA said investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
