Ways and actions to further strengthen cooperation in Higher Education are to be discussed on Tuesday by the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Dr Athena Michaelidou, with experts from Kuwait who are visiting Cyprus as part of the evaluation and recognition process of the programmes of Cypriot universities and institutes in the fields of Medicine, according to an announcement by the Ministry.
The Education Ministry said that, Michaelidou will meet with experts from Kuwait during their visit to Cyprus as part of the evaluation and recognition process of the programmes in the fields of Medicine of the University of Cyprus, the University of Nicosia, the European University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
It notes that, since October 2013, a Memorandum of Understanding has been in force in the fields of Higher Education and Sciences between the Republic of Cyprus and the State of Kuwait. During the meeting, it adds, ways and actions to further strengthen cooperation in higher
education between the two countries will be discussed.
The meeting, it also said, was part of the strategy of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth for the promotion and ‘internationalisation’ of higher education in Cyprus, and establishing the country as an international and regional centre for higher education and research.
