Drive-By Shooting Outside Chicago Nightclub Leaves Four Dead and Fourteen Injured

Chicago: A drive-by shooting outside a nightclub in Chicago’s River North area on Wednesday night resulted in the deaths of four people and left 14 others injured. The incident took place around 11 pm as a dark SUV drove past the Artis Lounge club on West Chicago Avenue.

According to Anadolu Agency, the police in the US Midwestern metropolis reported that three individuals inside the vehicle opened fire on a crowd standing outside the club. The crowd had been exiting the establishment following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz.

Authorities confirmed that the four fatalities included two men, aged 24 and 25, and two women, although their identities have not been released. The injured individuals, whose ages range from 21 to 32, are receiving medical care at local hospitals, with at least four in critical to serious condition.

“Prayers up for all my sisters god please wrap yo arms around every last one of them,” said Buckzz, whose real name is Melanie Doyle, in a statement. She added, “Feel like everything just weighing down on me … all I can do is talk to god and pray.”

Law enforcement officials have not yet made any arrests, as they continue to search for the three suspects involved in the shooting. This tragic event occurred on the same block where another mass shooting took place in November 2022, when the venue was known as the Hush Lounge.
