Minister of Defence, Vassilis Palmas met with the Ambassador of France to Cyprus, Salina Grenet-Catalano on Friday and discussed security issues of the region. They also reviewed the bilateral defence cooperation, between Cyprus and France.
On Sunday the Ministry of Defence posted on X (former Twitter) that the Minister met with the French Ambassador in his office, as part of his meetings after assuming his duties.
According to the tweet, during the meeting, security issues in the region and in the Middle East were discussed. They also reviewed bilateral defence cooperation between Cyprus and France and examined the prospects for further expanding ties.
The French Ambassador also posted about the meeting, saying that she was very happy to meet with the new Minister of Defence, to discuss the bilateral cooperation of the two countries and the regional situation.
“France and Cyprus’ partnership on security and defence is deep, dynamic and contributes to the stability of the Eastern Mediterranean area”, she
said.
