A joint forced return flight for people who were residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus took place on Tuesday, May 21, with the cooperation of the authorities of Cyprus and Greece, under the coordination of FRONTEX, the Cyprus Police announced on Friday, noting that, to-date in 2024, a total of 4,491 persons residing illegally in Cyprus have been repatriated. The Cyprus Police said in a press release that this was their seventh participation this year in FRONTEX joint operations for the repatriation of third country nationals.
