Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, and the Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanoli, discussed potential areas of collaboration, during a visit to DP World’s headquarters in Dubai.
According to a press release issued by the company, the two officials visited the company’s Headquarters in Dubai on the 25th and 26th of March. The Ministers were given an extensive tour of the DP World’s flagship port Jebel Ali P and O Marina/Cruise Terminal and Drydocks World. During the visit, the Ministers were briefed about DP World’s “sustainable and highly efficient operations, cutting-edge infrastructure, and seamless supply chain solutions”, according to the press release.
The Cyprus delegation and DP World executives discussed potential areas of collaboration, including opportunities to jointly capitalize on Cyprus’s geographic position and proven capabilities.
In a joint statement, quoted in the press release, the Ministers commented that they had the opportunity to discuss the s
ynergies that can be developed in Cyprus and to further develop and strengthen the relations between DP World and the Republic of Cyprus. “The Cyprus government expresses its sincere gratitude and appreciation to DP World for the valuable insights and information and for the continued collaboration and support throughout the years and looks forward to continuing this fruitful cooperation,” they noted.
