The job vacancy rate for the second quarter of 2024 stood at 3.0%, consistent with the rate recorded in the first quarter of 2024 and slightly higher than the 2.9% rate recorded in Q2 2023.
According to data released Friday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, the number of job vacancies in the second quarter of 2024 rose to 13,778, marking a 5.8% increase (751 vacancies) compared to 13,027 vacancies in the same quarter of 2023. Quarter-on-quarter, job vacancies also increased by 4.1% (549 vacancies) from Q1 2024.
The highest vacancy rates were seen in Accommodation and Food Services (6.9%), Transportation and Storage (3.7%), and Information and Communication (3.4%).
