People and businesses that distinguish themselves in the tourism and hospitality sector were awarded on Thursday evening, by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Cyprus Hospitality Agency, at the “Cyprus Hospitality Awards 2024”, held in Limassol.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis in his address said his ministry is strengthening efforts for the internationalisation of Cypriot gastronomy.
Koumis further said that “the Cyprus Hospitality Awards are a unique opportunity to reward creativity, professional dedication, innovation and people’s love for providing excellent hospitality”, a value that remains the same in the region.
“The Cyprus Hospitality Awards recognize and reward people who are active in the wide range of tourism and hospitality. Their performance and efforts deserve our recognition, love, appreciation and respect”, the Minister added.
He said that Cypriot cuisine evolves and competes with cuisines of other countries and congratulated the national teams of Cyprus at the Olympic C
ooking Games, held in Stuttgart, Germany, between 2 and 7 February, securing two silver and two bronze medals.
Costas Koumis also said that the awards honour another Cypriot treasure, that of Commandaria wine, “which is a symbol of hospitality, offering in every taste a rich experience and a journey to the culture and history of Cyprus”.
