The strategic nature of the trilateral mechanism of cooperation between Cyprus, Greece, and Israel was reaffirmed during a trilateral meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers in New York. Additionally, a shared commitment was made to undertake specific projects and actions in the near future. According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos participated in the trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Greece, and Israel, which took place on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. During the meeting, Kombos, along with his counterparts, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, and Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, reaffirmed the strategic character of the Trilateral Mechanism of Cooperation and expressed their strong joint commitment to enhancing multilateral cooperation through the implementation of specific projects and actions in the coming period. In the meeting, the Ministers emphasised the geostrategic importance of the 3+1 scheme (including the United States) for the prosperity and stability of the Eastern Mediterranean and highlighted their anticipation about a forthcoming ministerial-level meeting to further address these matters. Furthermore, the press release adds, the readiness of the Republic of Cyprus to participate in the Negev Summit, based on the dynamics emerging from the Abraham Accords, was underscored.
