Cyprus Football League title a battle for two after Match Day 8

Two teams, APOEL of Nicosia and AEK of Larnaca will battle for the Cyta Football League title.

After Match Day 8 of the second phase of Group A and just two games before the end of the league the two teams remained at the top two positions of the Standings.

APOEL beat Aris in GSP stadium with 2-0 and AEK defeated Omonia with the same score, 2-0, for the derby of Match Day 8.

After the end of Match Day 8, APOEL remained in first place with 72 points and AEK in in second place with 71. Omonia has been left out of the battle for the title as it remained stuck at 65 points. Aris remained at 61 points and Pafos, which beat Anorthosis with 5-1, closed to one point the difference from the 4th place.

Results of the Match Day 8: Pafos FC-Anorthosis 5-1, AEK-Omonia 2-0, APOEL-Aris 2-0.

Standings: APOEL 72, AEK 71, Omonia 65, Aris 61, Paphos 60, Anorthosis 52.

Group B

For Group B, the results of Match Day 10 are: Othellos-Ethnicos 2-1, Doxa-Nea Salamina 1-0, AEZ-Karmiotissa 2-5, Apollon-AEL 4-1.
