Seven people and not six, as was the initial decision, will march for Cyprus, at the opening ceremony of the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, at the request of the Cyprus Paralympic Committee (CPC).
As a press release issued by CPC reads, the Head of the Cypriot delegation Andreas Theofylaktou, coach Stelios Kakavoyiannis, athlete Maria Markou, coach Demetris Ioannides, athlete Viktoras Pentaras, coach Elias Agapiou and flag bearer Karolina Pelendritou will march.
It also adds that the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, personally contacted the delegation and wished them every success, stressing once again that the Government stands by the athletes.
