Cyprus and Italy conducted a small-scale maritime cooperation exercise titled ‘CYP/ITA-01/2024’ in Cypriot waters on the occasion of the presence of Italian frigate ‘ITS Carlo Margottini.’
According to a press release issued by the National Guard, on Tuesday, the exercise was mounted by the Cypriot Navy Command in cooperation with the Italian Navy, involving, among other actions, tactical maneuvers and communication exercises by the Cypriot patrol boat ‘Alasia’ and the Italian frigate.
Furthermore, a Cyprus National Guard delegation accompanied by the Italian Ambassador to Cyprus, Federica Ferrari Bravo, visited the Italian ship during its visit to the Limassol Port and was briefed on the ship’s mission and capabilities.
“The exercise was particularly beneficial as it contributes to the improvement of interoperability and exchange of technical expertise regarding the execution of maritime operations while highlighting the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries,” the press releas
