Cultural cooperation agreement further enhances our ties, says Greek Minister

The agreement on cultural cooperation between Cyprus and Greece will sign, is going to further strengthen the strong cultural ties between the two countries, Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni said Thursday. Mendoni is paying Cyprus an official visit and today she visited the exhibition titled "Kassialos: from Light to Shadow" at the Kostas Argyrou Museum in Mazotos village. She expressed her gratitude to the Cypriot Deputy Minister for her invitation. The Greek Minister said that visiting Cyprus is like visiting a country with which Greece shares deep relations and described the island as a place Greeks love and honor. She reminded that the agreement is signed following the political will expressed by Cyprus and Greek leaders, President Christodoulides and Premier Mitsotakis, adding that herself and Cyprus Minister Kassianides will turn the agreement into actions. Kassianides in her remarks said that she has the opportunity to repay the hospitality shown to her when she recently visited Greece. The De puty Minister of Culture Vasiliki Kassianidou and the Minister of Culture of Greece Lina Mendoni will sign an intergovernmental cultural cooperation agreement between Cyprus and Greece on Friday August 23. The exhibition "Kassialos: from Light to Shadow", is organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus and it celebrates the legacy of the naïve painter Michael Kashalos.
