Bus, trolley workers strike again in Greek capital

Bus and trolley workers on Tuesday launched a strike in the Greek capital city of Athens.

The strike will last from 8.30 a.m. (0630GMT) until 10 p.m. (2000GMT), said the unions.

The unions demand the adoption of extra safety measures for workers and passengers, hiring of additional permanent staff, renewal of the fleet, and full compliance of the Athens Transport Organization (OASA) and the trolley bus company (ILPAP) to the collective work agreements.

Bus and trolley drivers in Athens also held strikes last week.
