ATHENS: Bulgaria's center-right GERB-UDF coalition is leading in both national parliamentary and European elections, local media reported Sunday. Presenting parallel vote tabulations by the Alpha Research polling agency, the state-run BTA news agency announced that GERB-UDF garnered 25% in the parliamentary elections and 24% in the European Parliament (EP) elections. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), a centrist party supported predominantly by the country's Turkish and Roma minorities, won 16.8% in the EP elections and 16.7% in the national elections and became the second largest party. The We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria coalition (PP-DB) was third in national elections with 14.3% and garnered 15.8% in EP elections. The pro-Russia Revival party (Vazrazhdane) became the fourth largest party in both national and EP elections with 14% and 14.7%, respectively. The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the fifth party, was followed by the There Is Such a People party and the Grandeur Party an d will send lawmakers to the national parliament and EP, according to the tabulations.
