British racer Lando Norris and McLaren Racing agreed to further extend their partnership for four years until the end of 2025, it was announced on Wednesday.
“The opportunity to extend our relationship with Lando reflects not only our commitment but our belief and confidence in his talent,” said McLaren Team Principal Andreas Seidl.
“We are still on our journey to fight at the front and Lando is a key element of our plan, so to lock him into place, alongside Daniel [Ricciardo] and our senior leadership, gives us stability and continuity as we build towards our ultimate shared goal of World Championships.”
Norris debuted with McLaren in 2019 and scored four podium finishes last season. He also landed his first-ever pole position at the 2021 Russian Grand Prix in Sochi.
“Teams are about people, and I love the people and feel at home at McLaren. I have grown up in this team and I’m part of this journey we’re all on,” Norris said, adding that “it was a natural decision to extend our relationship for the next few years.”
The 22-year-old driver will join teammate Daniel Ricciardo, whose three-year deal expires at the end of 2023.
