Werder Bremen finished the job in six minutes and returned home with a precious 3-2 win.
“Today if you are 2-0 up after 88 minutes then you have to finish the game with a win,” Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic said after the loss, criticizing their own performance.
Now in the seventh spot in Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund were handed their first loss of this season. They have six points in three matches.
