US President Joe Biden announced his intent to appoint a total of 25 individuals to his Export Council, the White House said Tuesday.
The President’s Export Council, which serves as the principal national advisory committee on international trade, will be led by Mark D. Ein -- a businessman for 35 years who is currently the chairman of Lindblad Expeditions, Kastle Systems and on the board of Custom Truck One Source and Membership Collective Group Inc.
The vice chair will be Rosalind Brewer, who became CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance in March 2021 after serving as COO and Group President at Starbucks from October 2017 to January 2021.
Other members include presidents, CEOs and top executives from companies such as FedEx, CVS Health, Ford, United Airlines, Citi, 3M and Qualcomm.
The council advises the president of government policies and programs that affect US trade performance while promoting export expansion, according to the White House.
It also provides a forum for discussing and resolving trade-related problems among the business, industrial, agricultural, labor and government sectors.
