Karim Benzema's hat-trick led Real Madrid to a 4-2 Spanish La Liga win against Almeria on Saturday. Benzema drew first blood in the fifth minute for the hosts at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. In the 17th minute, the French striker netted again, and completed his hat-trick in the 42nd minute from a penalty kick. Benzema's hat-trick saw him pass Hugo Sanchez as the fourth-highest scorer in La Liga history with 236 goals. Lazaro scored for Almeria in the 46th minute and the first half ended 3-0. Two minutes after the restart, Rodrygo scored brilliantly from long range to restore Los Merengues' three-goal advantage. Lucas Robertone scored Almeria's second goal in the 61st minute. Real Madrid lay at the second spot with 68 points, while leaders Barcelona have 76 points.
