Major Asian stock markets closed mostly higher on Monday, while trading volume remains low due to the Christmas holiday.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, gained 0.28% to 3,249.81 points.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 increased 0.65% to close at 26,405.87.
Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda wowed to maintain its ultra-easy monetary policy despite the widening of the yield band.
The widening of the yield band is not, under any circumstances, a first step toward ending the ultra-easy policy, Kuroda stated.
China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange increased 0.65% to 3,065.56, while India’s Sensex benchmark gained 1.20% to close at 60,566.42.
The Hong Kong and Singapore stock exchanges were closed on Monday due to the Christmas holiday.
