Anadolu Agency holds symposium on Protection of Copyrights in Press in Process of Digitalization

Copyright problems in practice and proposed legal solutions will be discussed at the Symposium on the Protection of Copyrights in the Press in the Process of Digitalization, set to be held on Oct. 14 by Anadolu Agency.

 

Serdar Karagoz, the agency’s director general and chairman, will give the opening speech of the symposium, which will be held in four sessions by the agency’s Legal Affairs Directorate at the headquarters in the capital Ankara.

 

Attending the opening will be Huseyin Yayman, the head of parliament’s Digital Media Commission, Ali Taha Koc, head of the Presidency Digital Transformation Office, and Ziya Taskent, copyrights chief at the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

 

The symposium aims to protect the copyright of news content and to raise public awareness of the issue.

 

In the first session of the all-day symposium, titled Digital Publishing and Problems Encountered by Press Publishers, the process of publishing the news and its labor, the problems of next- generation journalism, and the problems brought by digitalization will be discussed. The digitalization of news and the problems faced by press publishers will be discussed by experts in the field.

 

In the other sessions, titled Copyright Problems Brought by Digitalization, Freedom of Publication in the Press, and the Fight Against Digital Piracy, the search for solutions will be explained by lawyers in the context of legislation.
