A maritime convoy with three ships carrying humanitarian aid, that departed from Larnaca port on Saturday, as part of the “Amalthea” plan for a maritime corridor to deliver aid to civilians in Gaza, will reach its destination today, President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, said on Monday.
“In a very short time the second aid shipment will reach Gaza”, the President said in his remarks, after attending a ceremony to commemorate the launch of the EOKA campaign, at the site of the graves of Greek Cypriots hung by the British during the anti-colonial struggle in the mid 50s, located within Nicosia Central Prison.
“We are preparing for the third mission and we are in contact with the US government”, he said, to complete preparations for building a pier, “which will greatly increase the delivery of humanitarian aid from Larnaca to Gaza”, the President added.

rinetraffic.com. The ships departed on Saturday afternoon from the port of Larnaca, in the eastern coast of Cyprus, with the aim of delivering humanitarian aid to northern Gaza. They are transporting a total of 332 tons of humanitarian aid.
