Six Spanish passengers arriving in Amsterdam were detained on the plane after refusing to wear masks as a protection against the coronavirus, the Royal Netherlands Military Police said Tuesday.
The Marechaussee, a branch of the military that monitors the borders and airports as part of their policing duties, on Twitter stated that six male passengers on the plane arriving from Spain to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport last night were detained after their refusal to wear a mask.
They were reported to the airport police by the pilot of the plane who said the passengers ignored repeated requests by the crew to wear a mask.
They are currently in custody and will be interrogated later during the day.
