Three people were killed when a small plane crashed in a mountainous area in Croatia, officials said on Sunday.
The single-engine Cirrus SR-20 aircraft was heading from Maribor in Slovenia to Pula in Croatia on Saturday when it disappeared from radars over a forested area near Mt. Kapela, according to the Croatian rescue service.
The wreckage was found on Saturday afternoon, the authority said.
Chief aviation inspector Danko Petrin said the bodies of the pilot and two passengers were found at the site.
The wreck of the plane has been damaged by fire, he said, adding that the aircraft crashed because it ran out of fuel.
