ISTANBUL: Rescuers recovered 11 bodies from a river in Nepal on Monday after two buses were swept away by a landslide on Friday.
Government administrator Khima Nanda Bhusal confirmed that seven of the 11 bodies have been identified, including three Indian nationals and four Nepali citizens.
Search and rescue operations to trace the missing passengers continue as improved weather conditions allow teams to expand their efforts, the official added.
The Kathmandu government has banned nighttime passenger bus travel in areas with weather warnings.
A bus traveling from capital Kathmandu to Gaur, near Indian border, rolled into the river on Friday after a landslide in southwestern Chitwan district, with three passengers reportedly jumping out and saving themselves. Another passenger bus traveling toward Kathmandu also rolled into the river.
