Charities in Turkey will distribute meat donations from the Turkish people to nearly 70 countries during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice.
A number of Muslim-majority countries, including Turkey, will mark the first day of the four-day holiday on June 20.
Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) plans to distribute meat to some 5 million people in 65 countries, according to information compiled by Anadolu Agency.
In addition, the Istanbul-based Federation of Humanitarian Associations (IDDEF) aims to reach 3.5 million people with its aid program covering 40 countries and 264 regions across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Balkans.
The Deniz Feneri Association also plans to deliver meat donations to 30 countries.
Doctors WorldWide will also deliver aid to the needy in such countries as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Chad, Ethiopia, Palestine, Niger, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Yemen.
Many other Turkish charities will also organize aid events both inside and outside of the country.
