Turkey’s daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.26% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 906,121 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,427 megawatt-hours at 21.00 local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,014 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 911,451 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.37% fall from Saturday.
Turkey’s electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 15.5% while wind plants comprised 15.2%.
On Sunday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 12,542 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,265 megawatt-hours.
