The Turkish industry and technology minister introduced the country’s first indigenously produced microprocessor, named Cakil, in the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF).
The microprocessor was developed by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey’s (TUBITAK) Informatics and Information Security Research Center (BILGEM) and the country’s defense giant ASELSAN, Mustafa Varank said.
There are some major restrictions in the world regarding the sale of microprocessors especially for the defense industry, he underlined.
“Countries do not give these processors to other countries, especially for use in the defense industry,” he added.
In the strategic fields, such as the defense industry, some countries restrict technology companies’ sales of high-tech products.
