Doncic signs supermax contract with Mavericks

Slovenian basketball star Luka Doncic on Tuesday sealed a massive multi-year contract with his team Dallas Mavericks.

“Mavericks, Doncic officially sign five-year supermax extension,” the Mavericks said on its website.

The NBA’s Western Conference franchise said his new deal was reported to be worth $207 million and it will start in the 2022-23 season.

So the Mavericks will keep him on the squad until 2027.

“It was the largest rookie contract extension in history,” Dallas added.

The 22-year-old guard has been playing for the Mavericks since 2018.

Last season Doncic averaged 27.7 points, 8.6 assists, and 8 rebounds per game for the Mavericks.

Before Dallas, Doncic had played for the Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

He is also playing for the Slovenian national team.
