Canada’s Charron bags gold in Women’s 64kg Weightlifting

Maude Charron of Canada on Tuesday won a gold medal by lifting a total of 236 kg in Women’s 64kg Weightlifting at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Italy’s Giorgia Bordignon bagged a silver medal with 232 kg total, while Wen-Huei Chen of Taipei, China got the bronze medal with 230 kg.

Turkish athlete Nuray Levent finished the event ninth with a total of 220 kg.

Charron’s was Canada’s second gold medal in the 2020 Games, after Maggie Mac Neil grabbed a gold Monday in the women’s 100m Butterfly in swimming.
