Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened on Friday at 1,417.95 points, rising 0.27% or 3.8 points from the previous close.
At Thursday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down by 1.2% at 1,414.15 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.64 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.7050 as of 9.33 a.m. local time (0633GMT) on Friday, from 8.6850.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 10.3600, versus 10.3820, while one British pound traded for 12.1170 Turkish liras, down from 12.1540.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $72.70 as of 10.09 a.m. local time (0709GMT).
